BET has given the green light to a one hour biopic series called “Street Dreams” based on the life of rapper Nas. The name Street Dreams is based off the artist’s 1996 hit single.
The script was written by Jonathan Levine and will tell the story of the rapper’s rise from a drug dealer in the Queensbridge projects to becoming a rap superstar. The series is still being finalized but Levine will be an executive producer on the pilot along with Nas. The film is described as a show about family, music and the ups and downs of the rap industry.
After the success of the New Edition biopic I definitely can’t wait for this one!
